Feel like it’s time for our annual prediction thread and I’ll start with a few and add later on.

Carti drops his most mainstream sounding album (since rage music is the most popular) that will be unamously praised by people outside of his fanbase.

The Hillbillies Collab album will be hated aside from Kendrick and Keem stans

J Cole drops his best rap work to date with either The Fall Off or It’s a Boy

Ye and Ty drop Vultures and its loved by casual fans for a bit until Ye does something outrageous again to get people to hate him

Drake surprise drops a mixtape at the end of the year and we get more info about the metro beef

Ice Spice’s debut album is successful but it’s underwhelming

Frank teases a rollout towards the end of the year with a possible drop in the beginning of 2025

Tyler drops his most successful mainstream album and becomes raps leading creative.

Clipse drops that tape with DJ Drama and Pusha throws direct bars at Drake, Jones, Yachty, etc

The Weeknd drops his final album and it’s his best work to date

Nas x Metro album is coming out and its gonna be a classic

  • Dec 18, 2023

I don't think mainstream will like Carti album.

    Feel like Hillbillies wont drop

Agree on Jcole but I think his stans might not like it.

    Agree on Ye/Ty and Drake.

I think Ice Hype is gone. Will probably flop. She dropped a single with Rema that didn't even chart.

    Frank, Tyler, Clipse not happening.

    Dont know about the weekend
    Agree

Kanye is gonna have the biggest comeback of an artist we’ve ever seen due to the current climate rn and the shifting of ideas

Ice Spice will have a successful year and possibly surpass Cardi if her album drops before hers

Gunna is slowly going to become superstar to the point that rappers will collab with him for a hit

Country will become the #1 genre in music

Sexyy Red will somewhat be relevant next year but will fall off by 2025

Drill music will fall off completely and get replaced by Jerk trap, Jersey club or some variation of that

Gospel Rap will have a moment of virality and popularity but ultimately will influence a number of upcoming rappers

Blp kosher releases huge Kanye diss track

I can see half of these happening.

I do think some artist from the early 2000s or s*** maybe 80s might have a short revival of their music.
