Drake is such a universal force, that some people would consider what 21 said shocking, hence why he felt the need to say it

    But really, he's right.

There really are people In the trenches of ATL, Detroit, LA, that f*** with like Baby Smoove, BlueBucks, Remble, Durk, Baby, Babyface Ray, that don't listen to Drake like that. So again, he's not wrong IMO and if yo niggas are niggas from the trenches, it's not all that shocking to me.

    Agree

What did he say that was outta pocket

That’s what I’m tryna figure out. I completely understood what he was tryna say. Especially a place like Atlanta that breeds a lot of good rappers it’s not far fetched to think people don’t listen to drake like that and can see future as being a bigger artist.

akademiks is a nerd though bro, dude is a Jamaican immigrant who went to Rutgers. how many hood niggas could he possibly be friends with?

I would just assume even a nigga like akademiks should know niggas like Kodak and Youngboy are the biggest rappers to niggas who relate to that music. And even to niggas adjacent to the streets

    Agree

Swear down my homie from Detroit was in LA this summer for a weekend and all we listened to was Babyface Ray, 42 dugg, Rio da yung OG, and like, some Est Gee s*** from Kentucky

And this is all 21 was getting at

I hope niggas don't take this as him disrespecting Drake

Like I said, even Drake knows this which is why he's brought a vast majority of these niggas into his world.

It is not a coincidence that he's working with Durk, baby, 21, future, Migos, etc. he's tapped in

it's like post malone or something.

niggas never would think he was doin it that big but apparently he is.

    Great example.

  • I also think the phrasing was dumb by 21 lol

Made hood niggas sound stupid and ed lmao

Niggas know how to find Drake music man 😂he didn't need to exaggerate to get his point across.

Them niggas know how to access music they not in the 90's lol they just don't care to listen to it when the hottest nigga around they parts just dropped some s*** lol

  • Like if u go anywhere in Florida where there’s black people, you’d think Kodak the biggest rapper since 2pac

This fax even in Toronto I know people who don’t listen to drake like that or even at all. There bubble of music is actual street music and the irony is they don’t use streaming services.

I think if you gave 21 some truth serum he'd tell you that he was exaggerating, and that really is point was just that niggas in the trenches listen to s*** from the trenches, and for the trenches. That's it.

It's not like niggas in Kirkwood just have no idea how to use Spotify, Apple Music, and Instagram or some s*** lol

The interesting part of this statement is, the same people 21 is referring to would treat a Drake feature like a winning lottery ticket.
Just cause they don't listen, that doesn't mean they're oblivious to his influence and power

To a certain extent though hes right
I know niggas that to this day they only listen to music off datpiff and s*** lol
Niggas think apple music is some type of futuristic type s*** that they dont really care to tap into
But overall most street niggas are probably aware of it and know who Drake is

This is vague , me being in Atlanta a lot of folk listen to these guys . It’s just more love given to people born and raised here obviously but it’s not like these niggas don’t get play. Especially drake

    This is nothing new tbh.

If you go to the hood, generally speaking they listen to more local artists/mixtape artists. I've especially noticed this being from the Chicago area, niggas mostly was into Lud Foe and them when he was hot, idk who they listening too now.
