IDK if it is is virtually impossible. The murder clearance rates aren't 100%. The thing is these serial murderers keep escalating more and more and get too confident. I doubt this was his first crime. Using your own damn car is sloppy, using a knife is sloppy, asking around on reddit and 4chan and calling into a show about your crime is sloppy. If he did ditch it and started driving something else that would only raise more suspicion because why would you stop driving your car unless you did it.
