well over a decade. my first favorite song was hard knock life but i was like 3 so idk if that counts, i remember my bro showing me how to get music off limewire and i downloaded college dropout, purple haze, and welcome back by mase when they dropped. i didn’t dig deep in the internet to find new music and listen to classic until about 07/08 though so i’ll put that as when i first started really started listening
Thats dope
this whole album is incredible
always around this time of year i have it on rotation
the horns in legacy>>>>>
finally listened to this album cus of this thread an holy s*** it's stellar
It’s arguably the best album by arguably the best rapper.
Glad you enjoyed it
Rory said this is a song you can show aliens to explain Hip Hop to them.
But it stays Juicy for me.
i'm so glad this song came up based off the thread title
yeah the instrumental is perfect for that warm introspective look on harder times that the song is going for
that quote from hamlet he drops too, "lord we know who we are, yet we not know who we may be" always hits hard
mv is perfectly executed by the Safdie bros too, great commentary on police bias
i just love this song so much too @op great thread
Whole album sounds like he’s trying to fit a lot of syllables into 10 second pockets as quick as possible
Have you heard Eminem or Tech N9ne before lol
OP created a new copypasta but he ain’t lying
You know as i finished writing this I was thinking either we’re gonna have a solid discussion or I’m gonna get meme’d to death

Everything plays so well together it’s like the beat was made for this song and this song was made for this beat. Everything is at a super high level and feels incredibly personal and introspective and makes you think about your own life. The Uzi line, the hamlet reference, you can listen to this hundreds of times and find new meanings in what he’s said

nah... I'm not talking about rapping fast. It just sounds like... idk word vomit sort of in short burst. Like he's telling us something in 20 words, that could be said in 10. And has pockets where he often stretches, and enunciates every single part of the word to jam it into the rhyme scheme. His overall flow for most of the album is kinda jarring. I still consider it a good album, had it in rotation for a while after it came out.
