I went through something very very similar to what Jay did in his marriage and everything is good now but it really f***ed me up coming back to this album. He nailed the experience really well. No ID did his thing too but this is one of those albums I can’t really be objective about.

It’s one of Hovs best albums, still underrated cause it came late in his career but placing it in his top 3 will become normalized after some time

Top 5 easy

I can’t imagine it ever being “normal” to say 444 better than RD, BP, and TBA tho

Those are landmark rap albums and for good reason

idk i’d have to think about it for a bit but honestly this record not even better than dynasty, blueprint 2 or vol 3 and those don’t rank that highly for me in his discog. it’s better than kc/bp3 and mchg at least

It’s defiantly top 5. Can put his 3 classics above it. Only other ones are vol 1 and AG. You’re acting like it being top 5 is ridiculous. No way it’s lower than 6 even if you put AG and vol 1 over it

Idk I dont consider any of those as reaally great projects
4.44 is actually special and rises above those to me
but i stil wouldnt really consider it a classic too
