EzioI disagree. It used to be the wild west, now it's much more regulated. Which is a dangerous because it gives governments the mean to instigate and astroturf seemingly organic movements, then they use the media they own to cover it and control a narrative. Then they use that s*** to justify legislative decisions.
That's how they do it in France at least

nah, it's the exact opposite, that's the problem. these people didn't start existing yesteday. the internet used to be the wild west, you never heard about people like this because they sat in their isolated chat rooms and forums. now the internet isn't some wild west gun blazing territory though - like the entire internet is owned by like 6 companies basically and information spreads faster than anything because of media cycles and centralized social media. there's no such thing as an internet circle or community existing in isolation anymore and that's what's resulted in all of this s***

If it was more regulated buzz-words like "loser" and "alt-right" wouldn't have become a real thing. I'm all for an authoritarian internet, there is so much s*** going on online and it's becoming a false-reality because people can't seperate it from digital to real life. Seriously. I fear for the future.

also the first modern school shooting was in 1979 so its not like school shootings were an internet invention

Ppl should be aware of the power behind their actions. Ur statements matter no matter where u make them. I don't believe in prosecuting ppl for making harmless statements but if u get dragged into such things I can't be that sorry for you we all know this s*** isn't completely harmless
