I think rnb is still in need of a couple of defining projects a la Trilogy to move the genre to its next iteration but I think we're seeing some really great music on the outskirts of the genre and we're seeing a lot of r&b artists starting to cross over

Contemporary R&B devolves into people doing half-baked early Weeknd/PND or rehashing 90’s stuff that has been done a thousand times. I think it’s just really devoid of creativity and the reason I said it shouldn’t be associated with the word future is because no one is trying to push s***.

Also, people will associate any Black singer and call it R&B or whatever so I don’t count that
