If you were rich, what benefit would you have in living in a current day NYC or Cali with an increased tax rate? Dont tell me you believe in some sort of trickle down thing where that money is going to magically go back to the poor

There is no benefit of living in these places in a post covid world where everyone is remote

Exactly, which is why charging more to live in it is stupid

  • Oct 19, 2020

It’s not just billionaires that are going to leave these places. That’s idiotic, it’s going to be much more impactful then that.

Why wouldn't the richest elite want to live in the most exciting city on the planet that is the world center of culture, society, business, media, fashion and, increasingly, technology?

There is no job opportunities if the cost of living is so high you need to be making 200k a year to live in a studip apartment, and fight in crowded markets like marketing and entertainment and tech for crumbs.

There is no real estate if landlords want 2500 a month with no budging or negotiation and are perfectly fine with having building vacant for decades for tax breaks

There is no events in a post-Corona world where people are realizing online meetups and digital events are biable options. Ask disney why they keep s***ting on AMC theaters.

Real estate is dead, give it 10 years. Well be 3D printing houses in Jesus City, Wyoming with Kanye West.

Biden truthfully won't do s*** and you won't even notice his presidency unless he dies in office. His whole campaign message has been "return to status quo" which is code for "return to nulling you with manipulated media to bore you away from politics". Trump isnt better at all but at least the hatred people have for him forces people to keep up with whats going on politically more often

You actually think people are going to prefer meeting up online over in person events ?

People are only doing it right now so they can stay safe and keep others safe, a majority of people do not enjoy doing things online over in person.

What does landlords have to do with real estate ? I'm talking about rich people want to live in NYC and buy properties. You literally said there is no reason for rich people to live in NYC and that is just flat out wrong.

Also a studio is affordable with $100k a year rent, not sure why you're making things up and saying $200k can't get you a studio.

Let's ignore the fact that there are plenty of great neighborhoods in Queens and Brooklyn that are also much more affordable.

So much fake news you're sharing fam.

Yes because your boss needs to stay competitive with other companies in your industry.

    No he doesnt

He has 3 generations of wealth to fall back on... Could retire and close the doors today, and his grandkids would be fine.
