Was there or will there be any hip-hop artist that has made such an impact essentially based of his debut album alone. Most albums post his debut were not good and he is still relevant in the entertainment/business world essentially based off get rich or die trying and along with Snoop and Em is probably the most recognizable rap artist of all time.
Snoop is the closest one but he already blew up from Deep Cover and the Chronic. Still he's the closest and he became a huge star in the 93-95 era.
If TML wasn't so meh, it could've been up there too.
Lauryn Hill too!! She lowkey might be the right answer.
But, then again, she was the biggest star on the Fugees and Miseducation was barely a true rap album.
So I'll still go with 50.
In order, I'd say(not including Lauryn):
1. 50 Cent
2. Snoop Dogg
3. DMX
4. Drake
5. Kanye West
its 50 cent, whats the debate about?
michael jackson liked in da club OP
its over
50 had a movie, a real actual PS2 video game(i think he had 2), and GRODT in a short span. Only Em can compete. Snoop when he came out was big, too. Wayne, Ye and Drake each had a great peak but a level below
This is brought up every few months. 50 has the highest peak of any rapper ever. Point blank period.
People need to stop leaving the massacre out of the conversation
Before I self destruct, while not as good as those first 2, is good as well.
Plus he carried Beg For Mercy

Bruh he turned that into a 10% ownership stake, so he got 100 million when coke bought it for a billion.

Curtis was mid af and a blatant cash grab minus some songs. BISD > Curtis.
But The Massacre was more diverse in subject matter and beat selection than GRODT.
I think GRODT is still better because it was more consistent in quality but the highs of TM like Ryder Music, Ski Mask Way, Baltimore Love Thing >>> highs of GRODT imho.
