I went to Toronto for a month and I noticed a slight change in slang and accent
When everybody around you is all talking in a certain way, it’s natural that your voice changes a little, but obviously not going to completely morph
It’s like how if you are born in Britain but come to America like in middle or elementary you’re gonna not have a British accent
