97 percent of this s*** sounds DATED AF. 70’s Disco aged better than 90’s Hip Hop. When I listen to rap in this era for better or worse It feels like the 90s and at least it captures the era better than any other genre or time. But that’s the best complaint I can give it lol.

Production wise I agree cuz it's just an enhancement of the sounds that came before. Trap sounds like 90's-2000's southern hip hop and traditional/boom bap beats are inspired by Kanye/J Dilla/ Madlib/Alchemist.

All music becomes dated eventually aside from rare cases like Thriller.

There’s a lot of amazing 90’s albums like The Low End Theory, Midnight Marauders, Doggystyle, Ready To Die, Me Against The World, Reasonable Doubt etc. and even though they’re “dated”, that’s not a knock against them. They’re still great albums.
