Bro people talkin about cloud rap and stuff like that but PM Dawn fathered that style back in the early 90's

Then you got dudes like Camp Lo who arguably fathered that swag kinda rap that dudes like Curren$y and them do

F***ing fire but just because they fathered one aspect of it doesn’t mean they did it the best

if you don't think they did it the best that's fine, but your initial post was talking about versatility and I'm just tryna tell you that these subgenres have been around longer than one may think.

I played San Andreas so basically I lived through the 90s as well. OP is right s*** was mad overrated at the time

I respect that point honestly but do you think the 90s is better than the heights that the 10s set artistically and musically?

In the year 1996 alone you had

    Outkast - ATLiens
    Busta Rhymes - The Coming
    Redman - Muddy Waters
    Jay Z- Reasonable Doubt
Mobb Deep - Hell On Earth
    2Pac- All Eyez On Me
    Fugees - The Score
    The Roots - Illadelph Halflife
    UGK - Ridin Dirty
    Ghostface Killah - Ironman
    DJ Shadow - Endtroduction
    Nas - It Was Written
    2 Pac / Makaveli - 7 Day Theory
ATCQ - Beats Rhymes & Life

and I'm still purposely leaving lesser known albums out lmaoo

    In 1998

Gang Starr - Moment Of Truth
    Outkast - Aquemini
Jay Z - Hard Knock Life
Mos Def & Talib Kweli - Blackstar
    Big Pun - Capital Punishment
DMX - It's Dark and Hell is Hot
DMX - Flesh Of My Flesh
    Lauryn Hill - Miseducation
    Busta Rhymes - ELE
The LOX - Money Power & Respect
    ATCQ - The Love Movement
    Juvenile - 400 Degreez

And again. I'm still purposely leaving lesser known albums out lmaoo

Y'all sleep. These are two years out of a whole decade. I aint even get to 94, 97 or none of that

We ignore a lot of the trash that came from the 90s because it was very hard to get on if you weren’t talented or up to a certain standard unlike 2010s nigga

there really wasnt any wack rappers out in the 90s except vanilla ice lol.

I think its the production from the 90s is why the younger generation say its overrated.

These convos about 90s music are so hilarious cuz it's usually from the "there's good music out now you just too lazy to look" crowd...

but it's clear that they don't do much digging themselves lmaoo

Niggas think 90s was just Pac, Nas, Big & Wu-Tang

Man I wish I was born in 1981 instead of 1991 only rap songs I remember vividly when I was young back then was 2pac's California Love and the remix version when Pac and Dre was at a mansion or something I was mindblown because the only music I knew was certain reggae music my parents played at home or in the car driving.
