I can acknowledge a man being good looking without having any sexual or romantic intentions. I'm heterosexual, never experimented with men or gay p***ography, and have been in a relationship with a cishet woman for about three years. I have nothing to hide, and men would be happier if we complimented them on their looks the way heterosexual women compliment each other.

I'm not taking it personally inasmuch as I just find it fascinating and disturbing, because the real lives of many of these stans are just as warped as their online personas. The Drake stans I knew in college were extremely shakey people.

Would his music be less valuable to you if he wasn't as handsome? How do you think that would make Drake himself feel, knowing that your enjoyment of his music is tethered to his physical appearance? Perhaps that's what makes him a genuinely and openly insecure and hurting person. He's truly viewed as a piece of meat by his fans, more so than any other rapper I've ever seen in history, because he's talented, unique, and sexy.

Drake's done plenty to appeal to white people too, in his own way. C'mon.
Also, Kendrick makes conscious music that just appeals to the Grammys more than Drake's, and Drake is smart enough to have figured it out early, so he just abandoned award shows altogether. A good move on his part.
Should Drake have more Grammys than he does? Yes.
But it's just an arena where Kendrick dominates over any other rapper (other than maybe Jay-Z and Kanye).

Ever notice how successive and consistent Grammys to black artists (mainly rap) always occur during periods of American history where white ppl (aka the Academy) are emphatically attempting to virtue signal, so as to visibly attempt to distinguish their political ideologies from others of their ilk/demographic? Grammy's (and Oscars) have been absolutely bogus for decades now for sure

I know a Drake stan irl who plays so much Drake on the aux when he gets it that his friends, who all love Drake too, tell him to stop playing Drake. He proposed to his now-fiancee on the anniversary of his breakup date with his ex who he still stalks on social media and made the proposal very public so she'd be made aware. I knew another dude who was a Drake stan who had an eating disorder and got off on dating women, making them fall for him, and then cheating on them, feeling no remorse afterward and usually doing the same with the girl he cheated with. He used to swear up and down that he had a writing credit on Views and More Life and we never saw it lol. They're genuine menaces and are deranged people.

I'm assuming you graduated mid 2010s for undergrad cuz you also sound like your posting during the ol' lunch hour, and, if that's the case, to be fair, nearly everyone was a drake Stan back then besides like Kendrick fans and Kanye fans and ye fans were easily the shakiest of the shakes lol

Kendrick and Kanye stans are shaky for different reasons. Kanye stans are actually worse but not quite as creepy. They substitute the obsession with looks with the blind defense of anything dude says or any music he makes as being "misunderstood genius" or the result of "mental health struggles", to the point where they basically defend fascism in public for dude or act like everything he's doing is some longform plan that conveniently has no proposed end in sight. Kendrick stans are just "real hip hop" d***riders who tend to, as far as I've seen, leave dude's appearance and personal life out of the conversation, like normal people with sticks up their asses. For Drake, the stans, not fans, have a legitimate perceived sexual connection to dude and it's made abundantly clear all the time lol. Like that guy who was assaulting a woman who caught his towel on the way out of a concert to the point where Drake had to f***ing intervene to keep her safe lol.

And yeah late 10s, it's a slow season at work rn so I have a ton of dead time for like another half hour
