Omfg I read that article today and died yeah those Stan's def exist. Unfortunately I myself am a Stan too tho cuz I immediately texted in my group chat the vid of Aubs snubbing KimK's goofy ass at the concert lmaooo
That's not really a "stan" imo. Superfan and stan are different and the former can be healthy. I'm a Three 6 Mafia superfan and probably even a Travis Scott one but I do not pry into their personal lives like that and don't care if people criticize them on personal grounds. A "stan" basically believes they are a friend of the artist at hand but in fact have no actual relationship with them. Or, in the case of some Drake stans, believe Drake to be a romantic partner of theirs beyond just thinking he's good looking. Like think of the "Stan" music video for a bit, and songwriting, and see how that very closely pairs up to the true standom Drake has. And I don't even think dude likes it is the thing.
It's a lot like how Eminem stans very obviously place a giant emphasis on him being white as this perceived domination Eminem has over black people when Eminem himself rejects that perception wholesale. Yes Eminem likes friendly competition and he like any great emcee will believe himself to be the best, and the argument can be made, but we all know the type of mess Em stans pull to defend him and Em hates it. Drake's whole "tough guy" angle in the last few years has been to try and shake that very phenomenon from being so closely associated with him but it just doesn't work because the stans are just too attached, as with Em's race and as with Kanye when he endorses fascism.
That's cap tbh
Griselda boys, Gibbs, and Drake during the rivalry, have consistently kept Push in mind trying to outrap him or keep up with him. Kanye was doing this as well in the spirit of collaboration and friendly competition on MBDTF. To say nothing of his own damn brother during the Clipse days and Jay on "Drug Dealers Anonymous".
Push is a GOAT, it can't be argued against. 0 misses, four classics, been at it since before some of y'all were born. He's better than Drake, won the beef against him, and cannot be left out of any serious "best lyricist" conversation, wrt rap at the very least. AND he's got plaques and Grammy's. Just unfuckwittable.

Drake stans are either closeted or latent bisexuals who have developed parasocial romantic attachments to Drake so that their basic critical thinking goes out the window any time he's mentioned. This is why people genuinely bring up his looks, dating history, and s***appeal into the conversation as to why he is a great, which is bizarre because DRAKE IS A GREAT and did not need any of those attributes to be one. He's got numerous classics and shifted the landscape of hip hop music and is without hesitation one of the greatest artists the genre has ever yielded. The insane emotional attachment to Drake that his male stans have is obsessional, unhealthy, and disturbing due to how closely they feel attached to someone so vastly out of their social orbit.

Yeah I hate that goofy ass Taylor-Swift-Stan-esque behavior for sure like those dudes who trashed Kanye's old house or w/e when drake even said that was goofy af... However, I have drunkenly DM'd drake telling him his music got me through my exams and the bar in law school right before I went to the Aubrey & Migos tour tho so I might qualify for the Stan list
Yeah but respectfully Her Loss was better than It’s Almost Dry
Drake has the upper hand rn

Still no imo. Music has a lot of power and plays huge roles in people's lives. I've told artists on social media they've inspired me a lot and sometimes they reach back, it's really cool!
Being a superfan is cool and most artists love meeting their superfans. They find their stans to be genuinely creepy and make fun of them a lot
Aubrey stans still mad going on 6 years.
Go paint your nails like your idol
I will, thank you.

I think you're referring to when he was talking to Joe about 'Let Me Love You', he did say he was mad when that song didn't pop
What's crazy is how Drake stans overcompensate for literally no reason the only album in hip hop that is truly bigger than Take Care is Em's first greatest hits compilation lmao and that's not even a studio album. Kendrick has a few weeks on Drake on Billboard with GKMC but Drake has triple the sales
It's deadass in the books that man is an icon and y'all are acting like it's still 2011 lol. By 2015 it was cemented that man was an all-timer. I lived through that and remember it vividly, IYRTITL was the tape where everyone just kinda stood at attention. The hype for Views after that was the most hype for any album I've ever lived through besides The Eminem Show
WHATTT
You've led an interesting life, to say the least.
That's a way to put it lmao
