You should consider starting one. You don’t have to have a huge catalog of art to get started. Just post what you’re comfortable with sharing, even if it’s only 1/2/3 pics a year. I’ve been dragging my feet with posting my own work but I’ve started doing it lately and feels good, although I’m still a beginner.

Also, try brushing up your film/photo editing skills and trying to acquire work with that. Like the other guy mentioned, there’s plenty of freelancing sites. It’ll make good side money if nothing else. Have you ever thought of that?

I always wanted to dip into it but I didn’t know the avenues too. theres a lot of things I wanna do like making videos or art maybe streaming even those its more of a hobby but again to make money from those you have to be popular and that can take eons + i really don’t like monetizing my self and self worth which may so get in the way of that too

Yep, been there and done all of that before settling on art so I know where you’re coming from, and you’re right to an extent about needing to have a following first before it takes off. But as a pro tip, streaming and e-popularity is more about who you know: the right person can put you on in a short amount of time. But that comes with it’s own challenges. Its a confusing topic, but you’ll figure it out.

And about monetizing, it depends on how you look at it. It’s largely commission and patronage based work, but being your own boss comes with its perks as well.

But if you want something a bit more grounded then yeah, look into a trade. Figure out what “professional” skills you have an aptitude for or interest in. Those are safer and much more stable career paths while you figure out your artistic plans. It’s a big world and you’ve got options.

Photography is good, relatively easy to find work and get paid for too. You can probably get started today, there’s a ton of guides for taking professional photography with the latest iPhone and androids. The worst thing you can do is procrastinate until you can afford the latest piece of tech.
