    You didn’t read a word I said

    Rappers shouldn’t be role models

Neither should Instagram/ YouTube personalities or athletes

If children are picking up d**** because of songs

    Then that’s a dumb kid

People who say that music doesn't influence the youth in negative ways are bullshitting

Shoulda woulda coulda. The reality of s*** is that theres kids who look up to them. If you know there are kids listening to your s*** and trynna be like you and you still glorify d**** then you've clearly made your choice.

It’s not just rappers it’s all entertainers. And it’s not just children. How are you gonna call a child dumb for emulating their role model? Because not every child has a good one. A child is dumb for being on d**** if their parent is an addict? You should really listen to how dumb and judgmental you sound

Yeah, there’s kids listening, it’s on the parents or whoever is in their life to say, “ we’re not going to take the s*** this guy is rapping about. Listen to the music and keep it moving”

Millions of young people listen to rappers rap about d**** and they’re still alive

In light of the whippets being pushed, Musicians should really take accountability with it and know they are influencing people knowingly or not. You can say they’re just saying from experience what they grew up around etc but no there comes a point when you are glorying something and not just speaking on it especially in a endearing positive light and not the consequences of it.

It’s not about how potent the d*** is. A d*** is a d*** and not everyone knows limits or how often to do things/safely etc. literal children will be doing it too. They are role models wether they want to be or not and should really think before doing something to their audience. No they’re nobody’s parents but that “influencer” rah they get should make them realize what they are and can do.

    This song.

They took accountability for it and stopped doing it live when some people would tell them “I shot up to your song man it’s great” because that’s not why the song was created. It was an experience, a tale.

We need more of this. The reality. But when a rapper does it “it’s corny”. Every song does not have to be for a social element. It’s ok to be preachy at times (tho this song is definitely not preachy it’s damn near perfect). Thoughts?

People needs to take responsibility for their own actions and not choke art out of the freedom to express and create freely

If you shoot up to a song that tells the tail of heroin, that is on you.
    Everything is on you.
There is nothing wrong with creating art, no one is forcing people to view it as a selfhelp book on how they should live their life

I’m glad you brought up addiction, as someone whose mother was a massive alcoholic, the absolute last thing I was going to do with my life was go down that path

The whole point of an artist like Gunna is to lack meaning and ultimately be a negative influence.

  • May 26, 2020

touchy subject. it’s tough to make a “don’t do d****” song without it being corny tbh. i think we’d get more songs about artists struggling with d*** addiction, but they probably don’t do as well so

Of course its on the parents, but at the end of the day its the artist who knowingly glorifies that s*** to his impressionable audience.

just as there's freedom for artists to express themselves, there's also freedom for people to criticize their actions and speech as potentially harmful to others

That’s great but also recognize that impressionable kids will probably experiment w these d**** because they hear it in their favorite songs
