I dont mind rappers talking about their own experiences with d**** as long as theyre not straight up glorifying it. The problem is there’s a thin line between the 2 but artists have to be aware of it

That is on the kids and the parents, not the artist.

“Will someone please think of the children 🦸‍♀️“

Pretending like kids aren’t gonna be influenced by figures they look up to is Just ignorant.

The reality of it is that all three play a factor to different degrees and some kids are just gonna fall through the cracks

Yes someone should think of the children. I’m not even talking about just some suburban kids getting into d**** because of rappers which is what it seems many of you think because you just said that

Most rappers say they used/rap about d**** because it's how they cope with s*** the experienced in the streets. So I don't think accountability is ever gonna happen. That's why I kinda had an issue with it when Fredo used to do it, cus it's like ok, if that's what you using it for fine, but when you doing s*** like this it goes too far.

It is not the artists job to raise the children of the world
It's the artists job so express them self and not conform

Allot of art is age restricted

To morally demand that all artists makes art to raise children too is ignorant.

You should be free to express what ever you want in your art and there is nothing ignorant about that

I never said that they should. They are free to make/do what they want but at the same time be prepared for whatever criticism comes their way

I agree. The problem now is that there’s no balance in mainstream rap. Mostly everything now is negative in some sort of way. Outside of the top 3 it’s all the same.

Morals and hip hop just don't mix. If you're gonna go after d*** use, you also have to go after all of the gunplay, misogyny, and the other degeneracy that rappers talk about. How many kids in Chicago got killed cause they wanted to be like Chief Keef or Fredo Santana? I mean, you got guys in England talking about 'drilling' now

You can't play nanny for one negative aspect of the culture and greenlight the rest. You either go all the way on some Lupe Fiasco s***, or take a step back and realize that everyone has their own agency and can only be responsible for their own actions.

expecting people being responsible for their own actions, that's crazy
