You're gonna make me rewatch Lighthouse lowkey
Deserves a yearly rewatch
Is it just me or did this version barely need a Lady Macbeth to nudge him toward regicide madness etc? usually he's genuinely warm toward his friends and the king etc but Denzel was pretty much ready to go from the jump

Lmao right? Didn’t even realize Lady Macbeth was at blame

Yeah, Frances wasn’t conniving or manipulative at all which made this even more confusing

I was prepared for a terrifying performance from her but she was kinda shook by denzels savagery and lost her mind away before I expected her to goddamn feminism ruined Shakespeare

Usually you're mad at her for ruining the bro-code

I wouldn’t blame feminism as much as Joel just painfully playing it safe. I wonder if they changed the story. I don’t even remember if Frances said “out, damn spot”

I was just kidding and no she didn't. Definitely played the no-heir angle a little harder than usual too I guess cause they're fairly old for the parts. I don't think it's usually even mentioned.
Idk if anyone posted
tried to watch this smacked and was so lost.
Anyone here would’ve told you that was not a good idea

I was still a little trippy after LP but i got it for the most part. Frances had one soliloquy or whatever that was kinda impenetrable but otherwise
Nah? What bout visually?
have seen macbeth like 4 times and read annotated once so pretty tired of story but after digesting I think this easily best film adaptation i've seen of macbeth, visually stunning so hard to process dialogue from when I read it
