I thought this was great. Loved the story. 3rd act almost went too off the rails but I think it found it’s footing by the end
@twitch sounds like A24 completely ignored a campaign for this. Sad to hear cause I definitely expected some momentum to gain after Sebs globe win
Just a sign that juggling too many movies during award season means some great films are bound to not get the attention they deserve. Sing Sing is suffering from the same fate as A24 puts full focus on Brutalist
Crazy the career trajectory of Sebastian Stan, who is taking inspired roles, compared to his MCU buddies like Chris Evans who is stuck doing endless Netflix trash and same with Anthony Mackie.

Nah that’s a fact A24 basically said we betting it all on Brutalist

Sebastian was always the better actor

Same s*** happened with iron claw smh
just saw this on max, very bizarre and funny movie. though im still not sure if i liked the ending, i thought the first couple hours were particularly strong. really liked how 'meta' it was at times, and it did a great job at balancing the comedic and heart wrenching scenes. i was also glad to see adam pearson in a more positive role after first seeing him in 'under the skin' last year

How do you feel about him being called by his real name in the end?

i thought that part was good, felt like one true moment of sincere acceptance for edward. the issue i had was mostly the ~10-15 minutes of buildup to that moment which kinda seemed like a randomly huge escalation of the plot, but it might be better if i give it a rewatch
I really like this. Did this even get a theatrical or straight to Max? Nobody I’ve talked to has even heard of this

Small theatrical run
sebastian is really great in this. you can tell the movie sort of doesn't know what to do after a certain point, but either way i like what it cooked up
