I just… I hate this extrapolative thinking. We don’t know that it won cause of a push for diversity. Just last year, the very safe and bland Coda won, which feels in line with the academy’s MO. I think to assume it’s a diversity pick is discrediting the genuine love a lot of people have for it. Why couldn’t it just be so good, that it’s good enough to break the mold and shift the paradigm?
