i feel like i didn’t understand the message of this movie. like it was entertaining but i’m a little confused and have a few diff ideas. i’ll have to rewatch.

Nothing matters, so you have to make the most of the good moments and make those moments the things that matter to you in the long-run. Create a purpose from those short moments where things make sense. Also: be kind while you do so because everyone's going through the same things as you.

damn. yea i’ma have to rewatch. i picked up on that and was thinking with that, the main takeaway had to do with generational trauma and Michelle Yeoh’s character passing her inner frustration with her life’s shortcomings to her daughter just like her father seemingly did to her.

Best A24 I’ve seen

Nearly 90% of A24 films mostly feel like parody A24 films so it was refreshing to have this movie come through their pipeline again.

And this played into a lot of what both critics and fans look for in an A24 film I feel like

Very little symbolism just for discussions sake, it tries to avoid being too preachy with its societal message (and I felt like they did a great job of it)

What I feel like this message does well is definitely up to interpretation though. Like I legitimately laughed at some of the gags and how they played up mundane things. I could see that leading to some groans for some
