Great performance driven film, wish it had more attention cause I feel like it’s gonna go under the radar until it (hopefully) gets some award noms

I agree Colman killed this s***. I also like how ensemble driven this was, yeah Colman was the main character but not every scene revolved around him. Some scenes he was able to be more in the back while the focal was on the other characters

This is a great movie about having fun/ finding fulfillment while making art, no matter what level you’re at. These guys have no reason to think what they’re doing will ever reach anyone, besides a few hundred guys stuck in there with them, but they still put their all into it. As a result it gives them so much purpose and self respect and human connection. These characters aren’t movie stars, but in their world, to everyone they know, they’re actors.

As a low level artist myself, I think of so much of what I do now as bullshit on the road to bigger/ better things. In reality I should be finding happiness in the fact that I have the opportunity to create, and take pride in the fact that I am creating, even if it never goes anywhere.

There are obviously bigger/ more important themes in the movie, but that’s what I took away from it.

This deserves so much more attention and love. One of my favourites of the year. Full of captivating performances that humanize those who are often dehumanized and display the healing power of art.

If the Oscars know what's good, they'll give a best actor nod for Domingo and a supporting nod for Clarence "Divine Eye" Maclin

finally seeing this tonight in an hour

just got out of the theater.

this movie left me speechless man. what a raw, unfiltered piece of art. the fact that it took two years for me to see this due to its limited distribution is upsetting. I really think this should sweep the Oscars. Please go see this in theaters if you haven’t.
