She really wasn’t just a straight up singer that could blow like a Beyonce,Whitney or Mariah. Her style was just chill and melancholy and it worked cause no one else sounded like her vocally.

She had an airy quality to her vocals. She's more of a Sade then a Whitney Houston.

Nah, the way we process music is f***ed up.

They can control the narrative like that. Just remove your music from streaming and you no longer exist.

    That's f***ed up

Makes me wonder if artists these days have their masters made in a official physical form or are they kept on some hard drive. Either way, were into streaming services now,not the artist and it sucks.

I've never heard anyone say this was a no skip album until this thread popped up

That doesn't seem to be the general consensus. When people talk about 2000s classic R&B album, I almost never see this albums come up. Not a diss, just saying, if you restrict it to genre and barely anyone brings it up, that Thriller comment is thrown out the window

And I don't mean music lovers, I mean the gp. Not many people bring this album up in those types of conversations

Could have finished downloading the album the time it took you to write this

it's a great album but thriller is a high bar

stand on your beliefs tho if you feel strongly about it. i can only imagine what she'd have been doing today

  • Aug 19, 2020

niggas refuse to post anything aaliyah on spotify but they cleared a robb banks sample her family was the worst

  • Aug 19, 2020

I don’t consider Try Again a part of AALIYAH but wow this run of singles is legendary.
Now if only people could just appreciate her and stop comparing her to MJ, Beyoncé or Rihanna

There was a time, I thought Drake was going to come through and deliver her catalog to us. I would’ve stanned him forever

“ Hankerson himself has yet to address the matter, and it’s hard to tell if he ever will, as he has never really done much talking to the press.”

maybe he just doesn’t want to. He might not see it the same way we do. He may see it as honoring her death who knows

This is the complete opposite of Prince’s Estate who keeps releasing his songs. Prince never wanted his catalog on Apple & Spotify, but his Estate didnt even wait a year to start releasing his material

I love this album, but please calm down
