it’s op’s fault for typing the second part of the title
he’s clearly trying to bait people into saying something
It worked lol
when did I say it wasn't a great album?
I'm just wondering how someone can compare this to Thriller when Thriller is the standard to every album after it. We've seen blockbuster albums called the "Thriller of this generation" and even regular people talking about the greatness of that album.
Self-titled has never come anywhere close to that type of impact. It has impact and influence, but to use it as the standard to R&B albums after it? Nah, doesn't happen
But you admitted you havent even heard it in full.
You're just arguing against the Thriller comparison

I’m very sorry about that if it feels like bait,I was caught up in the moment

Yes and that album is nowhere near Thriller in impact, influence, sales, public admiration, etc
Idk about quality, but if Thriller beats it in every other category, it's no comparison

Yeah, you f***ed that up bro.
This should be a celebration of a great album, not an argument on whether or not it was as good as Thriller.

Well I think with some of the users in this thread,I’ve cleared it up. I just wanna get closer to Aaliyah’s future.
not happening :(
That's why this generation is weird.
It's like if its not on streaming it never existed.
I spent years going back.and listening to old classic Hip Hop albums, just to see what I missed, to see if the hype was warranted. I did my due diligence. And there was no streaming. I had to walk my ass down to Tower Records and cop out, and I was proud to.

I’d like to think they’re waiting for the official biopic.
I’d like to think they’re waiting for the official biopic.
That's gonna be painful to watch.
I'd rather they didnt even attempt to do that.
She was only 22. She barely lived and you know the film.is gonna focus on the scandalous bits.
That R. Kelly bio pic tho? Its gonna be divisive af.

Lifetime did a s***ty biopic already
I really don't think the uncle cares for that type of stuff the last thing they did was a MAC cosmetics collab...

I did the exact same. We are the last of a dying breed. It made me appreciate the music more because I worked for it and spent more time with it.

Their not gonna do a biopic on her,how could they even do it right. Just like you said, she died so young. Just release it on streaming and re-print the physicals first collectors.

They did some street wear collab a few months back apparelnews.net/news/2020/mar/25/color-bars-x-aaliyah-launches-homage-late-singer

When she presented at the 2000 vma wit ananda Lewis. She also beat Britney n Christina n *NSYNC , s*** we were more diverse and respected real music back then
The only pic of the inside of the album I can find that I can actually embed lol
The whole packaging of an album(not just this one)just does a lot for the whole experience of the music
why won't he release her music to streaming?
He hasn’t given a reason, he has other artists albums under hostage too

Yeah but this wasn't their initiative, they authorized it. (meaning you can do it if you pay us)
I don't think there will be another biopic anytime soon...
