Love the styles and sounds he experimented with. Imagine if rocky was dedicated to music. He actually could've been a superstar

I can’t lie to you I hate the transformers level product placement Rocky does with the brands he has deals with. maybe because it isn’t as clever as he normally does it. Mercedes bars, Raybans we get it

The puma bar on helicopter was cool tho

I mean I just see it as normal rapper braggadocio

It's pretty cool to have a brand deal with Mercedes tbh

  • sfsorrow

idk how i feel yet but i feel like testing was such a victim of bad rollout + context of his discog it was released in. it would be received so much better if released now tbh

It literally came out the same day as Daytona + infrared
And duppy freestyle was that Saturday.
Amazing praise da lord went gold +

    Oblivion X

2nd verse of helicopter a good example, bro was on auto pilot for it. Especially when you compare it to how good his first verse was

Then you have lines like this throughout the album

    Been s***tin' on everything, wasn't even potty-trained

    And

my b**** badder than my toddler

And some of the lines just seem kinda elementary

Like the 1st verse on the intro

    Remember how you act (Uh-uh)
    Talk behind my back (Uh-uh)
Talk all kind of trash (Uh-uh)
My back, all kind of stabs (Uh, uh)
    You was throwin' jabs (Uh-uh)
You want me on my ass (Uh-uh)
    Down to my last (Uh-uh)
    S***, they'd probably laugh (Uh-uh)
    I can't go out sad (Uh-uh)
    I keep bouncin' back

Its not like terrible or anything, just feels like a step down from at least ALLA

We talking about A$AP Rocky here man

The guy was NEVER ā€œlyricalā€, at least not to the extent you’re implying

He’s had moments of great lyricism but that’s never been his bag

His main draw as a rapper has ALWAYS been his charisma, flow, and delivery

Saying a Rocky album doesn’t have crazy bars in 2026 is like… okay? That’s kinda always been the appeal

    Fairs

  • There was no reason for any flexing bars on STFU bro had to be spitting some radical s*** on there

  • Bo Ceephus

i mean unfortunately we waited this long for an album because rocky thinks he’s a superstar lol

  • I feel like I gotta quit the tradition of revisiting an artist’s discog in the days leading up to the new drop because it always ends up getting too nostalgic and kinda souring the new release like before this week I hadn’t heard TESTING since like 2023 and ALLA since 2021 or smth but now I’m comparing DBD to them like they’ve been my favorite albums of all time

Moments, for sure, no doubt. But that’s never been his bag, not in the way that it is for guys like Drake, Kendrick, Cole, etc.

He’s always been the flow & charisma guy

    Re listen to ALLA
The bars were a lot more concentrated (not saying he was Black Thought) and he the flows were consistent

Almost feels like he had Kanye syndrome of forgetting how to rap

Oh yeah it's not his main appeal

But he's fully capable of it and has done it before so I can see someone being a bit disappointed

But tbh I don't agree anyway
