A$AP Rocky Rejected Plea Bargain Because It Was a Career Ender

"A$AP Rocky rejected the prosecution's plea deal because it would have ended his career, TMZ reports.

Despite being offered three years of probation, a seven-year suspended prison sentence and 180 days in county jail if he pled guilty to one count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, sources say that Rocky believed doing so would lead to the end of his many endorsement deals.

Though he is facing a maximum of 24 years in prison for the charges, the prosecution says they will recommend a 10 to 12-year sentence if the Harlem rapper is convicted of shooting at A$AP Relli in November of 2021"

I mean that's kinda understandable, but I also refuse to believe he wouldn't be able to get future endorsements and deals, acting roles, etc.

You always try to avoid serious jail time if the opportunity is there. Why even risk it?

So many rappers get endorsements deals after doing time lol, he just doesn't want to do those 180 days. Hope it doesn't cost him 10 years of his life.

    Ntm he's married(?) to RIHANNA

    Him and Rihanna aren't married.

Iirc the court called it a common-law marriage or something. Besides, the point is he's Rihanna's bd and they still seem close so there's no way he's losing endorsements with her by his side.

And even if he did, it's not a career ender. But if he wants to risk it that's up to him

Dude's music career is basically nonexistent.

He has no music career. What is this?

  • Wasn't his lawyer's entire defense that the gun Rocky used was a prop gun? Day 1 of the trial and buddy might already be cooked.

  • Jan 24

First issue before the court is a potential Brady issue.

There is a newly discovered report about the 9mm casings that the state found just last night.

State says they immediately notified the Defense and the Court about the ...oversight.

Defense counsel is arguing for suppression of the evidence.

Judge told the Defense that the Court will pay for a ballistics or firearms expert but the evidence is coming in!

    Opening Statement:

    Prosecution:
Two videos play from Nov. 6, 2021
Video 1. We see Rocky holding a gun
Video 2. We hear gunshots, and 4 people. We can’t really see who is shooting but there is definitely conflict.
Prosecution emphasizes that the location of the shooting is an iconic, densely populated part of Hollywood.

911 Call comes in @ 10:18 pm - Caller says there has been a shooting at the intersection of Argyle and Selma. She saw four men fighting and walking alongside the street, Argyle. "The guy in the black sweatshirt pulled out a gun and shot."

State shows a pic of ASAP and Rihanna then gives a breakdown of the players.

    Terell Ephron is alleged Vic.
    He goes by A$AP Rellie
He was 33 at the time of the shooting
He has Known Rocky since he was 18-19 yrs old

A$AP stands for Always Strive and Prosper
    Founded in Harlem, NY (2005)
There are many members but we’ll focus on:
    Rocky
    Relli
    Illz (friend, Illijah Ulanger)
    12vvy (Jamel Phillips)
    Bari “aka” Young Lord

    Part 2:
    Day of shooting:
    1. Relli is in car with Bari. Bari gets a call from Rocky.
Relli hears Rocky say “F that N** Relli and some other tings.

    2. Later, while in a slumber, Rellie receives 8 missed calls from Mayers, Illz, and 12vyy.

    3. He also received an “aggressive” message from Rocky telling him “wya?” “Let’s get to it” and “Stop ducking my calls”.

    4. Relli will testify that he agreed to meet ASAP bc he believed they would have a confrontation, argue, and “fight like brothers do” and makeup.

    There are two incident locations:
    1. First incident Illz and 12vvy try to separate Relli and Rocky’s confrontation. They are grabbing each other’s hoodies. Rocky appears to be the aggressor.

    2. We clearly see Rocky with a gun.

    3. Relli will testify that Rocky pointed the *un at his chest and was threatening him, “I’m going to k*ll you”

Relli will testify that he never believed Rocky would sh%%t him

    Part 3:

    There are two incident locations:
    1. First incident Illz and 12vvy try to separate Relli and Rocky. They are grabbing each other’s hoodies. Rocky appears to be the aggressor.
    2. We clearly see Rocky with a gun.

    3. Relli will testify that Rocky pointed the *un at his chest and was threatening him, “I’m going to kill you”
Relli will testify that he never believed Rocky would shoot him.

    3. After this, Relli's mindset about the confrontation changed. He knows that they never meant to mend any rifts with him. He realized that the friendship, as it once was, was now, forever changed.

Second incident/location (Selma and Vista Del Mar)
    1. This video is grainy.
    2. Illz, 12vvy, Rocky, and Relli are at this location as well
    3. We hear *un shots, we see running, car alarms going off, dogs are barking

    Injuries:
We see tiny wounds to Relli's knuckles. We don’t know if they are from the bullets or not.
That is not relevant to the case.

10:27 pm Police respond to 911 Call to “shots fired in the middle of Hollywood”
-Officers are not given a precise location of where the event took place.
-They are doing what they can to investigate.
-The 911 callers wouldn’t meet with them.
-They searched the streets but retrieved nothing.

-Relli will testify that he went to the location with his girlfriend and found two casings.

-2 hours after the shooting Relli and Rocky are having a text fight. Relli accuses Rocky of trying to take him from his daughter. Rocky tells Relli to stop making stuff up.

The next day, Relli sends a message to a friend and says he wants Rocky's money because he *hot at him.

Relli filed a civil lawsuit against Rocky.

2 days after the shooting (Nov 8)
Relli takes two casings to the police.

Rocky's house was searched April 20, 2022. They recovered a magazine for a 9 mm semi automatic weapon. It was loaded with 6 rounds of live ammo.

Prosecution mentions the starter pistol defense! Jurors appear unaffected.
Prosecution tells them not to leave their common sense at the door.

  • Better hope he got some hispanic vlone soldiers on the jury or its over
