    Some, not most

It doesnt make them nonexistent tho

So what do u do?... Instead of just deleting the police departments, wouldnt oversight and accountability be a better solution?

    candace

    Community-led protection groups

    So gangs basically?

Abolishing police is A-OK with me if retaliatory physical violence is no longer a crime.

It’s a more specialized and community form of policing, not getting rid of them entirely

So what happens if a person commits a crime outside of their local community?

I have a clean record. If i go 4 hours away to rape and kill somebody, ur gonna have their community police saying i did it, and my community insisting i wouldnt have.

Obtuse thinking. There would still be bodies that investigate violent crimes with state jurisdiction. This idea is to prevent what happened to George Floyd from happening again. Armed Cops don’t have to be called to a 20 dollar counterfeit call, or a mental health call, or a loose animal call, etc. Cops themselves have said that they have too much on their plates, this Is about abolishing policing as we know it and limiting their scope.

So its more about, police local to the accused going in for the arrest. Rather than the police local to the victim?

I still think itll be a high stress job, and mother f***ers are gonna get lazy and draw conclusions before doing their job.

6 months on, 6 months off (and maybe some goddamn oversight) is still the best idea ive seen.

Axing police unions and sending complaints to a federal court is the easiest and quickest changes we can make. When cops know they aren’t protected by a union they hopefully will think more before they act

    Def not a bad idea

Not being allowed to edit body cam footage, is another massive f***in step in the right direction.

I didn't know Camden, NJ disbanded their police in 2012 cnn.com/2020/06/09/us/disband-police-camden-new-jersey-trnd/index.html they started over with an entirely new police force. The cops host block parties and go around knocking on doors introducing themselves to people. More of a 60s/70s beat cop feel. I did see that their chief of police was marching with the people recently too
