Also there was a bunch of talk of this sounding mainstream itt but this feels artsy in the same realm as Blue Lips did for Q. This is def not accessible hiphop for the average listener lol

Righteous Man is the ONE.. need the next album to be on this level all throughout. This not touching his best work but his pen is so great that I’ll return to it anyway even if the music isn’t always amazing. Also feel like this could grow on me still bc some tracks have a weird structure that I’ll def have to warm up to.

But yeah I’m not having those initial “this is AOTY potential” that I had with Herbert

Idk who said this like These Days 2 was very much on point. It does feel like a sequel to that album but with a current day Soul writing it for sure

TDE fumbled not putting the Mustard joint on here after the success of Not Like Us that Mustard placement would've put a lot of eyes on Soul

And I still just can't get over how you have a Doechii feature and she just does backing vocals and then the next joint you got this weed carrier chick rappin instead of a doechii verse?

You coulda still had notorious niq and get a doechii verse on that song too she woulda gone crazy on that beat I can just hear it

A SZA joint and a Kendrick joint and he woulda got a lot of looks. And keeping the mustard joint on the album too

A lot of Soul's production choices after that album has been very hit or miss

HERBERT is the only album that comes close to it production wise

I know it's early still but this might be his worst album to me I'm really not feeling this. Really disappointing following from Herbert which was so good
