Exercise and caring about how im gonna be tomorrow
Physically spending time in another place + exhausting myself is enough for me to not reach for my vices after im done
Basically dont have idle hands
Idle hands are the devils worship op make sure you got things going on.
Also if possible break down that huge goal into a smaller one like “don’t drink for a week” and go from there.

well what do u have control over, is it the supply of alcohol at home, are u actively going to a bar to drink
An old roommate of mine turned our garage into a weight room and replaced the beer with sparkling waters and ginger ale. Ate lots of healthy snacks too if there were any stress-related urges throughout the week
how do you truly overcome addictions?
i need to get rid of my drinking problem
check out allen carr's easypeasy method, only thing that got my dad to stop smoking
IMO there are two things that are fundamental to lasting change; the desire to change for your own well-being coupled with community support. I recommend looking for a local open MKP group and connecting with them. It's not addiction specific but it is imo incredibly powerful to be surrounded by other men who you feel safe around to say anything and everything, who will encourage you to become the best you can be. It's been life changing for me.

I don't have any magical advice from my experience
Deal with the underlying issues.
What makes you wanna drink?
What are you trying to get away from? Or get too?

Can you swap whatever it is out for something less harmful but meets your requirements ritual addiction stuff (I say that BC I feel like alot of addiction is ritual based, pouring the wine , cracking the beer, making a mixed drink, etc)
I have struggled w alcohol addiction and alot of substance abuse stuff in the past and still struggle tbh, but I feel like context is important, and also baby steps Is cliche to say but sometimes it's what needs to be done to get right
