Putting Nirvana at the top for me is like putting Biggie at the top. Love him so much, he’s in my top 5, but two classics just isn’t enough for that kind of talk I’m sorry
yeah they prob get the same 'treatment' as big in the mainstream but they were nevertheless around for many years and the output is there. like they were able to churn out amazing ideas for a long period of time even if they didnt live too long yk

Idk man nirvana had way more music than biggie
Idk man nirvana had way more music than biggie
ehhh im not sure. big had two posthumous albums out still
I get that point actually
Two things for me
1.I can understand seeing RHCP as a total package, i just dont personally see it that way bc their music was definitely lacking for me
2.I get the Nirvana point Kurt is def bigger than Nirvana, but I cant really fault a band for having an iconic front man especially bc a lot of great bands dont even have memorable front men. Especially because the music legit lives up to Kurt’s image
One thing I'll say about "Nevermind" is that Kurts vocals and cadence throughout album is pretty much perfect. I think that's what he hated though, he hated that he sounded so produced. The engineers and mixers definitely knew what they were doing on Nevermind though.
Iconic voice
It’s without a doubt Nirvana though Metallica might be a worthy alternative

Its really so dope to me that they did an album like Nevermind which is really what makes it hard for me to compare other bands at the time to them bc that album is genius, but then they switched it up completely and still made a classic less than 2 years later

Nirvana had 4 albums while they were active, biggie had 2 active 2 posthumous (i guess he just had the joint w faith too but eh)
Biggie > Nirvana
Biggie is a true legend in the sense that his flow and cadence will probably never be replicated, and his output might be small but, its some of the most iconic rap music in history. Truly legendary.
Pound for pound it's Zeppelin imo
None of y’all know which bands are actually American
