Don't get me wrong he got some jams but...let's be honest with ourselves here :jordanlaff3:
Jim Morrison was CIA??
dad was a full on US admiral, he was literally at the gulf of tonkin during the gulf of tonkin incident. basically val kilmer from top gun's son lol
before everything morrison appeared with a notebook of songs that would comprise all of the doors albums. he would never write a single song in his life after they started recording
in his early life morrison is known to have zero interest in music, performing music, even f***ing seeing music live or listening to it, he was in the film school but still. never played an instrument, never knew how to. never learned to sing. all of his concerts were absolute nonsense. no prior experience in playing music save for some small time concerts with guys from doors. first album ever IMMEDIATELY a classic. composed all the music for that. its all circumstantial but to me its too many funny coincidences
Seven Nation Army is arguably the last iconic rock song lol
imagine dragons denial

Jim Morrison/The Doors are industry plants!
at the very least they were part of the whole counter culture thing which was ALL military kids and ex-mil industry people. you can throw a rock and hit a 'dad worked for the department of defense' or 'producer was known to fly out to south america during the right wing coup' musician from that era. with CIA backing mk ultra at around that time and also introducing lsd to the general public.. im just saying
Throwing Frank Zappa into the ring
lou reed once said something about zappa that you hate to hear during your zappa phase but then realize theres truth to it after youre past it
Throwing Frank Zappa into the ring
Reminder that no matter how good some of Zappas music might be, he was an extremely reactionary crypto-fascist that supported Polish fascist parties
Not judging, I listen to Burzum, but this doesn’t get talked about enough
