Drake will never make the music that critics eat up. Just the nature of the beast. If you make experimental, mysterious, boundary-pushing s*** then you will always get critical acclaim by default. Seems that way to me anyways.

    After Hours is amazing though.

  • Apr 4, 2020

    you guys still use metacritic?

    nothing experimental about after hours
it's just good music which is something drake sucks at making

He took a U-turn on his recent mainstream pop turn in Starboy. It was kinda ballsy. Critics eat that s*** up

    you hate drake?

  • Remember that guy who made like 4 threads about the Eminem vs Kanye fan metacritic review bombing war

Metacritic inaccurate as hell though. Gravity got like a 96

Wouldn’t be mad if someone argued it was

Just like I wouldnt be mad if someone said after hours is better than every Drake album

ok. TPAB has a higher rating than the blueprint and grodt. Dont sit here and say it's arguably better

  • If Drake unexpectedly dropped an industrial rap (Death Grips type s***) album with no promotion like B did in 2014, I guarantee it would be his highest rated album on Metacritic.

    Guarantee.

I don't know, I think it's unfair to form an opinion solely on the metacritic score. Could you aggregate the metacritic score with the Pitchfork, Fantano & Rateyourmusic score and put it in OP for a more complete view of the situation?

My thoughts are that it’s weird that OP obtains and values the opinions of white people on black art

How do u define who has the “right” to comment on different types of art
