Kiss Land purely because the vocals were a bit more front and centre and not drowned in reverb. production is better on AH but some of the reverb is a bit of a nuisance and his voice isn't front and centre which is what I preferred with KL
Kissland is significantly better. The highs are so high, Live For is the only miss. Will never understand how this album got hate upon release.
this is tough because trilogy and kiss land were so formative in my life that I don't think anything could ever top the personal value. that being said after hours is probably as close as possible, I f***ing love this album.
My exact same answer! So glad AH wasn't another BBTM that left us all wanting more. (Granted BBTM was dope, but we were expecting Kiss land level s***)

yes! with bbtm and starboy there was always a sense of the good being so limited and I couldn't really dig into it like trilogy and kiss land. MDM was really good but so short and not as artistically interesting as Kiss Land and After Hours
Pretty, Adaptation and Odd Look are some of Abels best songs what the f*** is wrong with you
Dude had the nerve to put adaptation in that list that record still gets spun til this day

Adaptation is such a beautiful song
Whoa this thread was made in a super sonic speed lmao
I think I will be able to answer to this question after at least three months or after 50 album replays 😂

Nah, brother. You don't need 3 months to discern the only commonalty these two albums share is they're both bathed in a cinematic atmosphere and have 'some' sense of narrative cohesion. Unless you have half a brain, which I doubt you do, Hani.
Kissland is the way more superior project and that's judging by the lyrical content alone. The first four tracks defecate on the entire After Hours album,
I'm sure Abel will concede to this once he's retired but as of now, hell f***ing yeah! of course After Hours is better than Kissland, It's the best Weeknd album, period!!

😅 haha well obviously you aren't wrong, I agree, and wouldn't remove a dot or comma from what you said about Kiss Land! I am aware Kiss Land is a titan, very difficult to beat. (Difficult, not impossible, and I'm looking forward the day he tops it and the mixtapes)
But I meant it in a sense to have the time to digest After Hours, and give it a proper chance at facing Kiss Land in a comparison 😛 😁

Ppl big tripping in this thread.. I liked After Hours a lot but don’t personally see it lasting the test of time like Kiss Land has. The eloquence of KL overwhelmingly exceeds the lyrics on After Hours
