I have several friends who are in their 50's and 60's, as they seem more mature and easy going compared to even people around my age (I'm in my mid-30's). We hit the pubs, shoot the s***, and share knowledge about life in general. Doesn't surprise me as a whole, given how my GF is in her early 50's and we get along so well.

It's an interesting dynamic to say the least, could stem from the fact that I have Aspergers and older people are easier for me to connect with. Being said, I don't mind engaging in younger people activities on occasion too.

I just drove 5 hours for a hockey game (I dont even watch hockey) with a 60+ friend on friday. been getting lunch with him once a month or so for years also worked with him on and off for about 10 years. just gotta stay away from politics talk. at this point hes really my closest friend cuz all my friends my age are just too busy to ever do anything or have moved away. at work now im closest to 18 and 19 year olds but I never hang out with them outside or work. about 1.5 years ago theres was a group of "kids" 17 - 21 yo I hung out with a few times but theyve all quit and moved on, still talk to one of them tho

Cool beans, and on the same token my GF got several friends who are younger than her by a good amount. It's quite interesting to observe the gaps in friendships and even relationships as I've gotten progressively older.

Feel like those gaps stop mattering after mid 20's. You're always gonna be in environments whether work or whatever with big varieties in age anyways and you're all grown ass adults.
