I'm 33 and next month I'm moving in with a female friend of mine who's 24. We're both musicians and work on our albums together. We met doing open mics every week.

We're very different people at different stages of our lives, but when you have the same goals and interests it doesn't matter that much.

I have gay friends in their 40s and 50s. I love picking their brains, it's like looking inside of the mind of someone who was in their 20s during the 90s. They made me discover films and music and ideas I've never heard of. Definitely expanded my LGBTQ vocabulary beyond anything I thought of. They're more focused on their goals and less distracted by the echo chambers on the Internet that are slowing down younger generations. They're wealthier and wiser than I am and are pushing me to get to that level and not make the same mistakes they did. It's high key invaluable like talking to a future version of yourself.
