We’re also only talking from an American perspective rn. You don’t think other international startups and governments aren’t doing the same thing right now? Possibly with nefarious plans. Play in traffic if you want to.

I was born yesterday. I understand human evolution. I also understand tech is Pandora’s box, once it’s released it’s no turning back. But if you don’t place any guardrails on this thing or think critical about the legislative regulations and philosophical conversations that need to happen we are doomed to repeat our past missteps

Chatgpt and deep learning software saves me like 5 hours of work every day. Jus cus u not invested in this s*** don't mean that it ain't a net positive

Awesome, 5 hours a day that you would otherwise spend learning a craft and inquiring about the world around you that you can now spend being a mindless consumer and posting bad takes on the Internet

Ironically Oppenheimer came out last year

I agree that there should be regulations in place

Ive had so many “holy s*** we’re in the future” moments this past year but this just blew everything outta the water idek what to think

the fear-mongering of Ai is getting ridiculous

  • Feb 16, 2024

I’m not even trying to come off as pessimistic but did we not see 2020 or 2016?

Have we not seen how social media consumption and phone usage has drastically impacted our society for good or bad?

I get no one ever thinks it’ll happen to them or they’re far too smart to get caught in the tide of every breakthrough in technology but, You would be willfully ignorant and arrogant for your response to be get gud.

The only thing we will know is true is the physical things/reality in front of us. Social Media world will become entirely fiction

Most of my high school students are too stupid to use AI right and submit flawless essays when they've spent whole semesters writing dogshit in class

I'm in tech and follow ai pretty closely out of curiosity but man some of the takes I see coming from people in and around ai/tech about art are truly revolting
One of the leading researchers for OAI (who just left) was on a podcast a week or two ago saying all movies made before 1995 are bad, boring, and naive. Said something similar about music too
It is sad so many people working on building tools that will completely change these industries know and care so little about the artistic process

Silicone valley and tech bros are the reason why I hate tech. I'm pretty sure it was more optimistic and positive twenty years ago before the iPhone. This s*** is just annoying as f***

Because these tech bros are boring, soulless people with no taste or social IQ and want to replace all of those important elements of humanity missing within themselves with AI
