Can we at least talk about it?
op keeps trying to push his obsession with AI on the rest of the site
U think music fans weren't obsessed when they introduced digital a***og?? U génération are too cool for everything that u became uncool
no it isnt and its not even good at it outside of very simple or very generic melodies and instrumentals
and its still stealing, if youre generating it in a data prompter like suno

Would u object to it if it lead to the creation of an incredibly enjoyable piece of music
F*** u nigga
People b**** about the lack of charismatic and inventive young artists out there right now and I PROMISE you we won't make any of those with AI.

Instrumentally? Depends how it was created.
I have not heard any wholesale ai music that is actually sticking worthy or interesting vocally or instrumentally, part of it is probably because its being made mostly by people not musically inclined to begin with anyway and how we end up with mid at best.
Vocally no I couldn't besides the very rare case of like Beanie Sigel and DOC are using AI trained on their own old voice and now with their destroyed vocal chords they can still physically Rap and have their input overlayed with the generation in a "filter-like" fashion to sound like their real selves that was robbed from them and now are disabled.
Instrumentally I could see a chance but moreso it being part of the creation and not the whole thing. Such as AI finding/creating a sound that the person then plays. N of course I would like it to not be a generative general data source like suno, I would be more inclined to accept it if its trained very specifically and in its own environment with its own built purpose - that's the real potential of generative AI if it's ever going to be of any substance or evolution, not these half measure data boxes that are haphazardly trained on everything, master of nothing, no direct focus and is not controlled. Though a controlled, focused and self taught AI system is expensive, tech savvy and requires some actual skill n thought to put together that only a a small amount of people will be able to actually do.

I assumed cutiepiehole made this thread tbh
Another thing ppl hate about AI tho is it's insidious trickery nature it is doing currently
If AI created works labeled themselves clearly as AI created works and doesn't try to confuse or trick the consumer then you would have at least some people not caring as much
People don't like it when you're trying to get one over on them, and also it shows lack of confidence in the "medium" itself if you have to masquerade it with smoke n mirrors to have hope for that AI work to be accepted
AI has a massive PR issue that it did to itself when it didn't need too and created its own antitrust with the population when it comes to creative works
The next big breakthrough in popular music (Good Vibrations tier song, Velvet Underground or Kraftwerk level influential artist, 808s & Heartbreak game changing album) is not going to come from AI. We shouldn't give up on that.
All technology gives us is new modes of spiritual death
I agree to a degree but we already slaves to an algorithmic system that give us the illusion of distinctive personalities or creativity meanwhile we are just shadowy creatires walking in an endless circle
