C3 literally has 1 bad song (La La) imo

I bump both albums alot (and have Physicals of both - since you brought up buying discs lol)

I really dont think c3 sounds dated especially to general public. Sometimes mrs officer or beat build will come on on shuffle in car w friends and we always let it ride - and those arent even the main singles

But it didn't though. Wayne was already a fan favorite in the South since the 90s. Carter 1 was huge in the South and then Carter 2 was bigger. I'm not gonna dispute King because T.I. was bigger than Wayne until 2007 but if we are going by numbers, lol C2 sold more first week than Jeezy's album and fireman was a bigger hit than soul survivor. Obviously TM101 had more impact and influence but if we using the sales argument here, you can't say no1 was checking for it when we all know TM101 was a huge project and everyone checked for it and C2 sold more than TM101 first week.

C2 didn't need to have traditional sound. Dipset was one of the few acts to embrace the south and get love from the south. It's why you see southern artists name cam'ron as an influence. Example: Gunna. YFN Lucci remixed down and out last year. Dipset was like an east coast ugk to us. AND Dipset had already been working with southern acts for at least 3 years before C2 dropped.

Cam'ron was on a song with wayne in 02.

T.I. did 2 records with juelz. Here is one

the other was on T.I's classic mixtape in 2004.

And T.I. and Dipset were giving shoutouts to each other in 2002 when Cam'ron was promoting Purple Haze right after CHWM dropped. I can go all day about this lmao. Part of the reason I even became a dipset fan was because I saw them working with t.i. and wayne and those my 2 favorite southern rappers.

Lmao here is T.I. and Dipset giving shoutouts to each other in 2003. Dipset was the only rap act that got mad love in the south besides like 50 bu 50 was a global icon.

Not to mention, Cam'ron the nigga that introduced Jeezy to Wayne. How that sht happen if the south wasnt rockin with dipset like that lmao

And yeah i know TM101 sold less but even looking back (say at the end of 2006) tm101 was much more memorable , still in rotation more than c2

And i kno dip embraced the south alot, but wayne took they whole sound n ran w it ...

btw c2 is still 9/10 and top 3 wayne album for me

My point is C2 was more commercially successful and TM101 is still more memorable. It only went plat and is one of the most memorable rap albums of the 2000s and of all-time. So sales don't always work in every instance. Just like with C2. If C2 wasnt huge, there would have been no way a LFLS tape would have dropped. There would have been no way D2 dropped in 2006 and made a huge impact. No way the other mixtapes in 2006 would have dropped and no way anticipation for a wayne/juelz tape would exist.

And tbh i kinda feel that project only happened cause jeezy/juelz were gonna make a tape and that fell through (blessing in disguise)

Lmao stop it. Wayne had his own style on a ton of records on C2. Hustler's Muzik, Grown Man, Get Over, Shooter, Receipt, Fly In series, Tha Mobb. Those are all Wayne taking a piece of something and making it into his own sound. You cant be sayin this then defend C3 when it had autotune and a few other records taking from others lmao.
