c2 was monumental but C3 was a moment man. Apex of Wayne’s career. Best rapper alive days.

D2 was comin off d1 lol
    GANGSTA GRILLZ was poppin then

And tbh i got no clue why they did that lfls mixtape lol (if youre talking ab the mixtape not the album)

Wayne / Elz hype would still exist... Make it work 4 ya dropped in 05
And tbh i kinda feel that project only happened cause jeezy/juelz were gonna make a tape and that fell through (blessing in disguise)

How is D2 comin off D1 when D1 was released in April 2005? And in no way TM101 and King were better than C2. TM101 and King are trap classics, Carter 2 is a rap classic. That album has many of the best Weezy songs of all time. Yeah, C3 is the bigger and influential album, but as a straight rap project i think C2 is better.

Btw T.I. is one of the most overrated rappers ever. I like some of his songs, but he's not that special. Most of you should compare Wayne to Eminem, Jay-Z, Nas and Pac, not to Young Jeezy, T.I. and Dipset, lol

    King > C2 imho
Kings one of my fav albums OAT (along with Carter 3 and GRODT)

And Eminem and Jay didnt drop in 05/06 lol nothing to compare to (okay Kingdom Come but not alot to talk about there)

When I think that era, TM101, King, Massacre, Documentary and Late Registration come to mind

Heatmakerz catered to southern style when they made C2. Which is why the production doesn't sound like a typical dipset record....

Did they/he (always wondered if it was a group lol) say that in a interview?

You telling me production wise it doesnt sound like this? Lol

Yeah Wayne used a more laid back flow on Reciept but even that can be linked back to like Cam’ron or someone

And Reciept one of my fav C2 songs

IMHumbleO what makes C3 better is how different it sounded from everything else that year/era

One of the best examples was You Aint Got Nothin

Wayne got on a “NY Style” beat with NY Rappers and what does he do? Instead of playing by the book he drenches his whole part in autotune and proceeds to sing-rap over it. Then he spits a crazy verse with a much faster flow than Juelz/Fab

THATS what made c3 so f***ing great to me man. RAPPING is more than bars. C2 has bars, but waynes unapologetic approach to C3 - willing to try different sounds, flows, effects - made it his magnum opus

Yes it has a soul sample but the beat is closer to what you'd hear in a southern song. Nyc never had records with bass dropping like that.

And tbh outside a few records on c3, most of that sht uses punchlines and NY been known to do that for a long ass time. Yeah c3 more experimental for wayne but c2 overall better because it's more consistent

Yeah, of course these 4 albums are great and classics, but so is C2

So i guess you like the OG Carter 2 better than the one we got? And btw, what do you think of new Wayne (2015-2019)?

  • Nov 1, 2019

i started stanning him when c3 came out but even the nostalgia i have for it isn't strong enough to overcome how good c2 is.. c2>>>>>>c3. both classics tho.

Og c2? You mean like freshs blessings, birdmans on, shine for life and stuff?

I like those songs alot but idk the beats always felt so unfinished to me for alot of those songs
    Maybe the quality or something
C2 sessions definitley overlooked tho, people always rave ab c3 sessions and forget c2 sessions lol

15 was great outside NC2, My Corner with Raekwon and DJ Drama Intro are top 20 features imo
16-17 was average, up until dedication 6/reloaded which was a top 6 wayne mixtape oat imo
18 / Carter 5 was dope, not as good as c3 or 2 but id put it on par with c1
19 been aiight i guess.. need more to judge
Some my fav features this year include the dj khaled/gunna song, LSD Remix, They want My blood

  • C2 and it’s not even remotely as close as you think it is

  • Nov 3, 2019
    Troy Ave Stan

As a better overall project C2 but C3 is so commercially successful that it probably has a wider influence for sure and more importance to the culture

    #powder

    Nigga

    You stan

    Of all ppl

    ........ Troy Ave?
