Fire, I pulled a bunch from evolving skies still want the Rayquaza alts
Pulling rainbow pikachu was one of my favorite pulls
i remember being hyped with you when you pulled the big gay rat
I never knew people called them “reps” i remember when having bootleg Jordan heat would be the end of the world
if ya jumpman was even a little off you were boutta have the worst day of your life in school lmao
Missing the point, I own a lot of stuff if someone offered me 100x of what I paid for said item I’d sell them all
thats you bro. some hobbyist dont have a want or need to sell their s***
thats you bro. some hobbyist dont have a want or need to sell their s***
Hobbyist gonna stay hobbyist then
i knew it was him
yeah he baited himself into that
nobody can tell the difference between reps & authentics anymore, hustling to pay 800 for a shoe that resellers f***ed up the market about is stupid
2010s really was the kast of an era in many aspects of life goodamn pray for kids and kids kids
idc what any of y'all do but it's so funny how some of y'all are so upset that someone is spending 1/10th of the price for the exact same thing
Thing is you never know the intention. I agree that buying hype shoes to impress is lame and usually leads to corny ass fits, you can’t blame the nigga who took an L on snkrs and genuinely loves the colors on the shoe
They're a passion for him, maybe he'd rather have the cards than the money Should be easy to understand for someone spending 1k on shoes
That’s just not the same thing man
i got one thing thats boutta s*** on your whole argument:
you dont need to own designer shoes.
bro went on a whole rant assuming s*** about folks lmaooo
and niggas just co-signed it cuz they saw words like "classism" and "capitalism"
like nigga just dont buy s*** to follow trends???
wearing reps as an adult is lame as hell because you shouldn't be grown and pretending to be someone you're not
if you're not someone who can afford designer that's okay go shop at zara and be true to yourself
Saving a list in my notes of every single user in this thread who made an excuse for why reps are okay so I can make sure to never interact with you
That’s just not the same thing man
@TakenUsername Idk about Rick Owens but niggas are wearing hyped pairs like TS Fragment Lows, Nike Air Max Pattas, Jordan 4s etc when they could sell them and make almost 100% profit. But they don't, because they'd rather have the shoe. It's the same thing, maybe bro would rather have the cards than the money And you don't know how many packs he had to open to get cards like that, it's not just $2 he spent because he didn't open one or two packs. The profit margins decrease when you consider that

How does that apply to me at all? I don’t wear Nikes or Jordan’s or anything like that, I can see what you’re saying but it doesn’t apply to me
If someone offered me $100k for my $1k rick boots it would be a no brainer deal for me
If someone offered me $200 for a $2 Pokémon card it would also be a no brainer deal for me

Am I the only one who sees these cards as something to play a game with and not sit there and look at like I actually wear my shoes bro I don’t put them on a wall and look at them
Like sure I’ll give it to @Gojira his presentation is p clean as far as decoration goes but my point stands lol

But you do understand why people wear those pairs right? Or are you also thinking "WTF, why don't you sell them? " when you see someone wearing pairs like those?
It should be understandable for someone who's into fashion and specifically shoes is what I'm saying. Collecting and owning an exclusive item plays a role in the hobby. That may mean more to someone than the money they could get

the cards have artwork and value, people like to collect them. people collect cards for the art all the time. how does that not make sense to yall?

I never said it didn’t make sense lol I jested my perspective is probably a rare one because while I understand it, it’s just not for me because I see them as a means for the game and would even argue that collecting them and putting them on a wall hurts the people that might want those cards for playing the game (not always the case but it def happens)
But I do think those resin casts ppl do with cards in them are p cool ngl

The argument I made about the Pokémon cards is based on the multiplier of potential profit
Selling a $200 retail pair of nikes for $800 for example is only a 4x profit
If I had a $2 Pokémon card that someone offered $8 for I could understand not selling it sure because the multiplier isn’t that much and the personal value can easily out weigh the profit
When it comes to something like a $2 Pokémon card going for $200 (I don’t know s*** about these cards i know some go for les some for way more) that’s a 100x multiplier I think almost anything is worth selling for a margin that high
Just feels silly to me to hold onto something like a card you can’t even touch when a profit that high is waiting for you.

But how many packs were bought, opened and pulled from to get that one rare card? The multiplier goes down once you consider that

You’re thinking far too deep into this now for the sake of a debate
Whatever they bought previously does not diminish the multiplier of that individual card because those cards in those other packs have their own value regardless how high or low, they’re their own cards
