dwmtn sold 246k (drake feature, “rico”)
    wins & losses 102k
championships sold 208k (had drake featured, “going bad”)
    expensive taste: 80k~ (89k)

looks like meek mills trajectory has been declining as well his music quality. no one is comparing him to anyone. we are talking about how meek mill isn’t as big as he thought he was. he even considered himself a “big dog” as he told Ak. How are you one of big dogs in the game but your numbers aren’t reflecting that?
idk why meek has so many fans that want to paint him out to be some legend. i promise you’ll be ok if you never heard another new meek album.

There's the Drake stimulus, which is true, and then there's trying to argue that Drake generated over 150,000 sales from a single feature on another person's album. That's obviously bullshit, otherwise people wouldn't have forgotten about Blocboy JB and Makonnen. You'd have a stronger argument comparing the big features as a whole:

Championships: Drake, Jay-Z, Cardi B, Roddy Ricch, 21 Savage, Rick Ross, Kodak Black, Future, Young Thug

Expensive Pain: Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Lil Uzi, Moneybagg Yo, Young Thug

Add in Meek just getting out of jail in 2018 and you've got what happened. Wins and Losses only did 102k the year before Championships, there isn't even a real "trajectory".

so you gonna act like the drake features didn’t help either of his albums...?

    Going bad peaked at #6
    Rico peaked at #6

meaning both charted and were the LEAD singles of the album. wonder why they charted... you wouldn’t suppose the Drake feature?

I'd say Meek Mill getting out of jail probably has a way more significant impact on increasing his album sales than a Drake feature does but go off...

trust me i know meek’s albums get saved by features but if i mentioned any other features outside of Drake you have that one person who will argue whether that specific feature really helped or not lmao.

    Did people say 250k to 100k was bad? That's a 150k drop.

200k to 90k (learn how to round) is a 110k drop.

I ain't see people throwing a fit with the drop from Dreams Worth More Than Money to Wins & Losses despite it being a much more significant drop off between two years. People wanna start talking about the drop from Championships to Expensive Pain when the drop off between three years is noticeably less in comparison.

    What's the problem here exactly?

I was being nice by saying 200k. Championships did 229k lol

Meek’s debut album dropped almost ten years ago and he’s still moving almost 100k in this climate. What’s the big deal not every act in hip hop is a superstar

    Facts

selling 80k isn’t bad it’s just bad for meek and specifically for the reasons you even stated: he miscalculated who he was.

Yeah that’s what I mean. Meek kinda opens himself up to this.

didn't even know meek dropped an album tbh

You said earlier that Meek's biggest songs are Going Bad and RICO but RICO didn't peak at #6, it barely cracked the top 40. All Eyes on You was the biggest song on that album and the lead single. So it's actually a Nicki stimulus, not Drake? But Froze flopped so maybe it was a Chris Brown stimulus? You could work yourself in circles doing this.

The two times he topped 200k he had just gotten out of jail. If Drake hype was driving his albums, DC4 would have sold way more than it did, so that's the only reliable correlation here. Championships had a stronger list of features than Expensive Pain. You can't attribute it to any single person but combined it's obvious that had an impact of some kind.

Just say what it is. 230k-90k is a 140k drop off. It's literally still within the same drop off range as DWMTM and W&L.

When Meek Mill don't have that "First day out" hype behind his albums he's a 90-100k selling artist...that really ain't bad from a street rapper that's been around since the early 2010s. Not everybody is Drake b.

    why would i come
out of my ass to say something that isn’t fact?

The only argument you have at this point is other songs on that album that were just as big as RICO.
