Yes he is he said in the video in op it was painful for him that drake played those songs

What I mean is, a lot of niggas be claiming they this and that but be hating a lot. Akademiks used to constsntly push narratives and be negative in regards to Drake. But now people act like he’s the Drake ambassador or something when there’s niggas way more knowledgeable than him and a lot of his takes are extremely exaggerated like he’s just doing it for attention which he prob is knowing him.

this is a very harsh but honest critique from akademiks. Whilst i somewhat agree (this is obvious to people who understand music) its unfair to judge drake on this setlist based on the fact drake does have timeless music in his catalogue.

the reason why its facts tho is because kanye could tour Donda solely and people would be fine with it. Drake cant do that for CLB they would want some other hits in there at least from my perspecive.

my last point on this matter is, Kanye wheeled off a few hits, but he got sooo many more he could of dropped it shows the depth in contrast to Drake..

People act like it wasn’t a plan set list I’m sure drake knew what kanye was gonna play and kanye knew what drake was gonna play…

Exactly, it’s as simple as Drake wanting to perform new s*** and Kanye wanted to perform his hits. They clearly didn’t surprise each other.

Drake most likely saw Ye setlist and was like "oh okaaay imma just play my newest s***, I cant compete with that anyway"

This is so clearly thought out and eloquently stated. I had the same realization this past summer. Ye is miles ahead of Drake, and honestly, always has been.

Drake when Kanye said let’s take it back to day one

  • Dec 16, 2021

drake makes music that sticks out just enough from a playlist to hit but not so much that it turns you off. Kanye makes stadium music. That is what is behind pretty much the entire beef. Drake is numbers game player for the new music industry and Kanye is not. However Kanye actually puts himself and not his financial future in his music and that's why his music means more over time.

See I don't get it with this degree of Drake hate regarding the performance. Obviously it was Kanye's GOAT moment time to shine, but Drake still killed his setlist. Obviously, I think most would agree that Drake should've performed his greatest hits like Kanye. I'm disappointed that he went with an all CLB setlist, but I can't lie I was rocking to that s***, No Friends in the Industry with my soundbar going full volume and a half a bottle of Henny in me, it was just as energetic as Kanye's set.

Overall, it felt like Kanye's show with a Drake intermission. Not a Kanye x Drake show. And to be fair, it was billed like that, SG Drake. I think Drake missed the opportunity during this once in a generation moment and Idk why he went with an all CLB set!
