Yeah I think that’s more of just a time constraint thing than bad story telling though. It’s relatively cheap (compared to krillin), but it’d be legit impossible for them to set that relationship up with as much built in time.

Now you could argue, maybe they shouldn’t try using the sacrifice move at all if they can’t give it due justice, and I wouldn’t argue with you there. But it looks like they were trying to set up powers and situations in which even MUI can be beaten

Very few can illustrate fights and movement like toriyama does and his character design is more iconic than 90% of other mangaka
If we talking about story dragon ball is the kind of manga you read for the fights like jojo, i dont see anyone bringing any of those in a best stories list (well aside from steel ball run) but thats not their goal
