At some point early on it did seem like Chris brown could be a Michael jackson tier artist, but I don’t think it was his weird ass post-fame gang ties. He never had a Quincey Jones-tier team that put together great music for him. Brown’s music always sounds super of it’s time and not very great. His talent exceeds his music, if that makes sense. MJ still put out absurdly good music.
