Never said she's not talented. I just hate the labels pushed by white lib media publications calling her the next MJ or the greatest performer since him when she's no where near that. S***, seeing what Shakira did at the Superbowl put any performance I ever seen from Beyonce to shame. She is a fantastic vocalist (though a little less than stellar in the live setting) but the dancing is really mediocre as you said. Her tv and big set performances are also never creatively that interesting if we're being real. Homecoming was good but more often than not, it was because of the entire group of immensely talented performers she had rather than just her.

Truth be told, the only performers (in a formal setting) I have seen this generation matching Chris Brown's ability to so perfectly execute his ideas and themes are Kanye and Kendrick.

Beyoncé doesn’t stand up to comparison for me for many reasons, for example if you put her on stage with just a spotlight, she’d maybe sing incredibly well but what else?

MJ did this spotlight routine for Billie Jean & it mesmerises people 40 years later.

I don’t think she has that talent/relies on flanks of dancers, heavy choreo etc.

Fully agreed. The most praised performance of Beyonce's career was Homecoming, a set where she has almost a 100 people on stage showcasing their talents even so far as going to remove herself completely out of the limelight to showcase other dancers and instrumentalists. Yeah she put on a really good show but it shows that she is no where near the performer she's been hyped up to be when that is what earns her the most praise.

What MJ can do though is definitely untouchable as far as being able to just perform without any back up dancers and steal the stage. Even Chris Brown needs a few dancers around him in his best sets.
