And if we're being honest,
My hot take is that the Rihanna s*** really didn't end him. He rebounded from that.
What honestly ended him was his incessant desire to make slaps and hits that were pure low hanging fruit, when he could have channeled his talent for more long standing, iconic R&B. It's like he wanted / wants to be a rapper hybrid, and that lack of an identity kind of nuked him.
He's turned into Ty$ who's great in his own right, but that's well short of Michael Jackson.

Facts! He has the technical skill but his tastes arent there.
Not to say hes not a serious artist but his taste or at least the songs he chooses are always JUST bops and not challenging at all. Michael did the bops AND challenged you.
Chris wasn't even usher/alicia keys level before beating rihanna so how the f*** could he be compared to MJ
IMO, Chris just never had a Quincy or a strong group to give him a clear, distinct direction. There's no denying his talent for me, and I think he makes great music, but he has too much filler for someone with as much of a signature voice & as much creativity he has. Imagine how much more love a song like UTI gets if Indigo (fire album btw) was at least 15-20 tracks. The quality control is needed.

He was definitely getting there “with you” and “forever” was in heavy rotation before the rihanna s*** so let’s not front chris was becoming the biggest male pop star

That’s exactly what Akon is saying
I also fail to understand the Beyoncé slander. She's definitely one of the best artists/performers of this generation. This thread being too technical like she a damn machine or some s*** lol. She puts all the pieces together like a lot of artists fail to do and makes everything work for her. It's hard for me to hate on that & Break My Soul is a grower! I thought it was meh at first but I love it now. Stream RENAISSANCE & BREEZY & Dawn FM & Silk Sonic (Bruno slander is weird also, I'd love for all of these people to collab at some point)
That’s exactly what Akon is saying
I ain't even peep the video lmaoooo I just regurgitated everything he said but yeah
That’s exactly what Akon is saying
Yeah idk why the OP said gang ties even though Akon never mentioned that . He was clearly talking about having artistic direction and guidance

Chris needs Missy to exec produce
i actually agree he had no guidance (pun intended) unlike mike and others
haven’t heard of breezy having an engineer/producer or mentor who was making sure his music was at its highest potential. instead he went on to make 45 song albums that sound wayy too generic from vocals, melodies to production
she's not even close. Her choreography is mid. Really good live singer but again her stage presence is so overrated and so heavily built upon her status instead of her actual performative abilities. Breezy can command an entire award show of celebs even when everyone hates him. Bey just stands and looks out and people cream their pants cuz pitchfork overrates her mediocre ass music.
hating ass post
she’s definitely closer to MJ than Chris Brown. all Chris really has is dancing ability. Bey got the full package: singing ability, dancing ability, classic discography, that Virgo perfectionist persona that makes everyone respect her. ofc at the end of the day, neither of the two are f***ing with him when it’s all said and done
I agree with what someone else said that Chris’ talent is bigger than his actual output
You’re just not hip to the good stuff
!https://youtu.be/qh0OyvjcJKE!https://youtu.be/HE5LeYJXcfA!https://youtu.be/m4mDOGoOheMI seen all this lmao
Like I said, he’s a fantastic performer but Breezy is on another level

How is she closer? White libs overrate the s*** outta her. Her music is even more creatively lazy than CBs. Break my Soul was literally a cover song and it was s***. Under the influence is better than any Bey song I ever heard. Bey ain’t even as good a singer as Rihanna. And the only thing that perfectionist persona is good for is running a sweat shop for her ghost writers. Her dancing ability is wack as s*** too. Bruno not even a dancer like that and he was out doing her at the Super Bowl
Beyoncé the most overrated artist of our gen

I think she’s a great vocalist but I agree on her being wildly overrated.
You’re also right about Under the Influence

ohhh i get it now, you’re trolling. lmaoo
carry on
Chris Brown fans will forever defend him by saying "But pre Rihanna" that's the issue we're alot of years removed from that now you can't base his entire career off what he could've been.
He's a talented artist whose had a long career give him that but stop the MJ talk and live in the present.
he don’t have a Thriller
he don’t have a Confessions
he don’t have a Miseducation of Lauryn Hill
he don’t have a One in a Million
he don’t even have an ANTI, like damn 😂
his stans are basing this off his dancing and shoulda/woulda/coulda arguments
not true. different era. r kelly wasn’t even canceled yet. you could get away with anything then as long as you kept it ‘urban.’ which is why CB suddenly became a gangster after the beating.
R. Kelly was beating cases though. Chris Brown owned up to beating a woman, and his career was definitely effected by it. He had to resort to the urban s***, because he wasn’t going to be supported with his pop s***. But I still think if he was a lesser talent, that would’ve took him out the game. It wasn’t just anybody be beat, it was the beloved Rihanna
