because kendrick and cole haven't been consistently lying about their album release?

i don't mind drake taking his time but he didn't need to say summer 2020, january 2021, summer 2021 etc or rock a heart on his hair and post about merch for 2 years

imagine the hype if we didn't hear any album talk from him after dark lane and only learned about clb in july 2021 2 months before its release. and in those 2 months we saw all the promo we have been seeing in the last 2 years. it would had the same hype as new frank ocean or kendrick which technically it should have had because drake's last album was 3 years ago

So was Frank Ocean a b**** for going on hiatus, announcing an album in 2015 and going ghost for an entire year and half? Was Jai Paul a b**** for taking 6 years to make a statement? It’s very very easy to think you know why an album of this magnitude is getting delayed but truth is we don’t know.

An artist at Drake’s level doesn’t just upload it to Apple Music and go to sleep, there are countless gears being turned. We’ve never seen simultaneous projects being worked on like Nocta, BWFH, handful of features, crafting an album along with the fact that we are in unprecedented times. The album will come when it’s ready.

Also, the only b**** move I’ve seen was GOOD trying to take The Boy down in summer 2018 by planting 7 albums around Scorpion and STILL failing miserably.

I’m not here to debate whether or not the concept was well executed or if Abel does his thematics better, I’m just saying Views does have an existing theme.

Also, your definition of “cold-trap” song can be a group of friends go-to track to play driving down the Gardiner Express during a summer evening. Sure, sonically it isn’t tropical and lush like the previous tracks but I can’t tell you how many times my friends & I have played Digital Dash in the summer & only that season. I wouldn’t necessarily categorize that song as “summer” either. With that being said, how is Childs Play not a summer track? I can guarantee you nobody from the city is playing a track as fun as that in -25 degree winters here.

Views isn’t stitched together like a Kendrick Lamar album but to say it was just crammed together last minute is a bit disrespectful.

I didn't say it was a last minute effort. I said he worked UNTIL the last minute and didn't want to cut songs, hence why its 20 tracks when it doesn't need to.
As for the part about the aesthetic of the songs, I think it's safe to conclude that people associate different instruments and sounds to seasons, and if Drake wanted to reflect summer in the tracklist, putting Grammys after One Dance doesn't make sense
