16. Fountains: the weakest effort from Drake yet on the International musical voyages he's embarked on since 2015, this would have worked better as a solo Tems moment than as a collaboration. An easy skip but I could see this eventually growing on me to a point where I'm able to tolerate listening to it.
17. Get Alone Better: the best R&B moment on the album, Drake and Ty Dolla $ign pick up where they left off on Scorpion with Jaded. Drake makes perfect use of Ty's strengths as a background vocalist and the result is a bold and beautiful staple moment any R&B fan would love. A perfect listen from start to finish.
18. You Only Live Once: An energetic rap moment with two other rap titans, Rick Ross and Lil Wayne, the chemistry both artists share with Drake becomes apparent as soon as the song starts. This picks up right where Lord Knows left off and Lil Wayne drops one of his best verses this year. A solid addition with great verses from all three acts.
19. IMY2: A welcomed collaboration between Drake and Kid Cudi who share a closer musical identity than most people would care to admit, this is one of the most enjoyable collaborations on the album. Drake and Cudi take turns throughout the song and the result is Cudi's best guest appearances in years. I wouldn't mind more collaborations with both acts in the near future.
20. F***ing Fans: An addition that treads on the weaker side, this doesn't kick in for me until the second half which mostly contains more musings from Drake about failed relationships.
21. The Remorse: A strong closer and a solid contender for Drake's best outro, this is probably my best solo Drake performance on the album. While this plays, you wonder to yourself what the album would sound like if Drake could maintain this level of self-awareness and honesty throughout the album.
All in all, this is a solid album. There are 3/4 songs I would have removed from this to make it a stronger effort but this marks a glaring return to form after Scorpion. One thing to note is that despite me having certain songs I didn't care for, they weren't terrible listens or bad songs necessarily, they just did little to nothing to improve the overall quality of the album. A top 3 Drake album and one of his best-produced, this should grow on both fans and detractors as time passes by. I'd give the album a 7.5/10 with the potential of becoming an 8.5-9/10 as time passes.
Ratchet happy birthday
Ohhh yea far better
I see you misinterpreted my words
Let me clarify
You’re saying Drakes best stuff was during Take Care
I’m saying Ye’s best stuff was MBDTF, which is a classic
Donda is nowhere near MBDTF, not even close
You out ur mind…
I said how we accept this mediocre drake album?
Ur response:
The same way we accepted mbdtf from ye in 2010
So the way we accepted “a classic” in ur words
We should accept a mediocre?

I WAS TALKING ABOUT DONDA
IN COMPARISON TO MBDTF, DONDA IS NOWHERE NEAR AS GOOD
Going off the point that this ain’t as good as Take Care

Respectable take tho, 3-4 skips is classic material on 21 track album
It's a lot more experimental than Off The Grid imo, but it doesn't really matter. Both songs are contenders for SOTY

Also important to note that them being skips for me right now doesn't mean they can't grow on me later. It's just hard to ignore the much better songs on the album because the difference is like night and day.

Another fine point fam

we almost on the same page
I feel more like it’s a 6-7 but I agree with almost all of ur points
Certified Lover Boy review
1. Champagne Poetry: The career-best Drake intro, this sets the tone for the entire album. The haunting sample, the razor-sharp bars, the beat-switch. A perfect start to an amazing album.
2. Papi's Home: A solid, energetic song, it's the perfect track to follow after a nearly 6-minute intro. Another great use of a sample. The bounce. The flow. All seemingly effortless.
3. Girls Want Girls: The album's first weak offering, it does the job of carrying over that energy of Papi's Home but a better topic over better production could have this a more magical moment on the album. Lyrically, it's the first weak moment on the album for Drake. Lil Baby comes in later but with very little to work with, even he can't save this song. With that being said, this is still a fun listen and I'd let this play all the way through every single time it comes on.
4. In the Bible: Save for Lil Durk's excellent verse, this song is the first true dud of the album. Giveon adds nothing to the song and this felt like a filler track on the first listen and even more now.
5. Love All: As decent as Jay Z's verse on this is, this song did nothing for me and adds nothing to the album. An easy skip that drags the album down a good amount.
6. Fair Trade: A solid rebound from 3 straight unnecessary moments on the album, Drake returns to form here with a flow he's never used before. The hazy, dark production compliments Drake's flow, the beat switch and Travis Scott delivers one of his better rap performances as a featured artist. This has legitimate hit potential.
7. Way 2 Sexy: Another great collaborative record. This marks a breather from the serious tone embraced on the album so far. Future has the best performance on this, followed by Young Thug and then Drake. A solid listen, I could easily see this taking off.
8. TSU: The production on this immediately made me recall Pain 1993 from DLDT. A soundscape Drake feels at home in. Intro was unnecessary long and should have remained as short as it was when this leaked titled as Not Around. The laziest beat switch on the album, Drake closes out the track perfectly.
9. N 2 Deep: This track doesn't do anything for me until the beat switch where Future delivers another stellar verse. Strippers will eat this up.
10. Pipe Down: This felt like filler to me on the first listen and still feels like that. Does nothing for me and something I'd skip.
11. Yebba's Heartbreak: A solid reset, this is the only song to not feature Drake vocals. Drake exists stage left and leaves Yebba to herself and the result is the best vocal moment on the entire album. This also marks a tonal shift in the album, it's no wonder why it was placed mid-point on the album.
12. No Friends in the Industry: Drake's rawest rap performance on the Industry. This has the umph sorely lacking on Nonstop off Scorpion. Over a menacing beat, Drake goes into overdrive and doesn't slow down till the song is over. A very solid addition to the album.
13. Knife Talk: A clear fan-service effort, this sticks out like a sore thumb and doesn't fit in with the rest of the album. The first song on the album I didn't like at all, this feels like a throwaway from Savage Mode 2 and despite excellent performances from Project Pat and 21 Savage, this does nothing to elevate the album.
14. 7am On Bridle Path: One of the 3 major introspective moments on the album, this is the first time/place in Drake's famous series to be featured on an album. A bold reminder of Drake's prowess as a lyricist when he really wants to go in.
15. Race My Mind: Over a moody, dark beat, Drake croons and then laments about his romantic failings and shortcomings. Not a bad addition but far from great.
Pipe Down is the second best song on here lmao
I just caught onto Durk shamelessly promoting his girls makeup brand in his verse. Not even trying to be slick with it just coming out and admitting what he's doing. That s***'s hilarious lmao

Yes, I just love arguing with teenagers over the latest kidz bop vol34
