It’s post like this that lmk a lot of y’all just don’t grasp the idea that creating an album is an ART FORM in it of itself, it’s not just throwing random songs together, that’s a PLAYLIST or MIXTAPE

Another way to look at it is a series verses a sitcom. A great sitcom has individual episodes that may be loosely related but there isn’t any real plot or narrative that ties everything together. Just a overall theme. It’s just quick entertaining fun then on to the next episode. With a series you have a plot, narrative, character development, foreshadowing, and all kinds of elements that give the show depth. A great album is like a season of a really good series. Dawn FM is like that. A playlist is like a season of sitcom. CLB and pretty much all Drake projects post NWTS are like that. Ofc with music there doesn’t have to literally be a story but the music, instrumentation, writing, etc on a GREAT album is crafted with the bigger picture of the project in mind and work towards some kind of overarching idea that brings all the songs together.

If you fw Drake recent projects I ain’t mad at it but you can’t fault the critics and the sector of the fanbase that wants more

The problem with drake section is you cannot make a valid argument like this because they immediately think you’re some delusional hater or a kanye stan and you’re still gonna listen to the next drake album anyway so stop complaining.

Yeah of course we’re gonna keep listening to drake. He’s a goat. Doesn’t mean he’s made a good album in a while though.

The problem is when you criticize The Weeknd for making 80’s pop rehash music your called a hater and his fans say that’s the music he wants to make because he wants to be the biggest pop artist.

Why no neo soul or real r&b or jazz music etc….from The Weeknd

You can’t just constantly criticize the same artists over an over but make excuses when anybody criticize y’all faves back.

If 1 artists gets to make pop music because he wants to be the biggest pop star you can’t criticize another artist because he wants to make rap, trap, drill , r&b, pop, dancehall , afrobeats etc because he wants to be the biggest artist in music.

It’s about consistency with who they choose to criticize thats all.
