It wasn't until I could hear Coltrane speaking thru his saxophone. Something I've never heard before. It blew my mind. The song arrangements are beautiful and philosophical. Coltrane's phrasing, Jones' expressions, Garrision's grounding and Tyner having that conversation w Coltrane thru his chords. This albums like 4 men discussing their life and where they're headed.
The opening is iconic, legendary. Every Jazz Cat knows it. For new listeners, you're in for a treat.
Then there's the song Part II Resolution. A Love Supreme is simply amazing. Thru learning this album, starting to recognize it as the Album of Life.
F*** yeah. One of the greats. Have you listened to his album Giant Steps?
